Here's Another Way Of Looking At It

We send probes full of our diseases to other planets, to the edge of the solar system and inevitably beyond, for the sake of curiosity. We emit radio waves with reckless abandon as well, hoping to beacon intelligent life that may just signal to hostile worlds our presence, or create interference with alien businesses. This is because to us, Earth is still center of the universe. Any consideration beyond is secondary and at times, treated comically.
