I am new to this forum, and after reading most of the posts I would like to say that I have figured out why seti is losing steam and crediability (even though I cannot spell). you have a lot of smart people seriously looking for answers to the main question "is there intelligent life out there" but then you have nut jobs who try to prove that there is life out there. the main problem is that the alien freaks who for some reason would never accept that we are a unique species are very outspoken and often heard more than the rational poeple who treat this like any science should and are asking questions rather that looking for answers.
