Bigger Binos Or A Wide Field Scope?

Thank you for the input, Bob! I think I speak for many website spectators in saying your reports are very informative and enjoyable to read.

Unfortunately my LX200 is only functioning as decorative furniture for fear that I might sacrifice it to slippery steps. As much as I've used them, my binoculars cost considerably less than any of the three Meade Plossl 4000 eyepieces I got with the scope. How sad is that? :) As my budget continues to recover I've given some thought to eventually buying a third optical aid. Since you mentioned your Orion 15x70's I thought I'd solicit your opinion. If you wanted something versatile and portable to complement a very cheap pair of binoculars and a 70-pound scope would you go with a wide field refractor or a really good pair of binoculars, or something entirely different? Any input would be very much appreciated (including that from anyone else reading this).

Many thanks,
Matt
