I've seen the Messier Craters on the Moon. Real nice feature. I hunted down 84 Messiers from my back yard sitting between 2 street lights with an 80MM refractor in the 2 years I used it. Of course I've moved up now to the 12" LX200. Glad to hear your learning the sky before getting a goto scope. I think too many people are getting a small goto and getting frustrated just trying to get it to work. Good Luck at the Starfest. Is this your first big Star Party? Odds are, you wont spend much time looking through your 6". I'm sure there will be lots of big scopes there. Walk around, check'um out. People are always glad to let you have a look. I use to bring my 80MM to starparties, set up, never use it. That's why I neve got through the rest of the Messiers with it. Can't see everything from yard, trees, lights and stuff. I plan to make a point to finish them with that scope sometime. Have fun.
That's it;
BOB SAL
