Yes, you will have to keep nudging the Dob to keep up with the rotation of our planet, but Dobs, especially those made by and for good outfits like Orion, have VERY smooth bearings so your scope won't jump around. The only way to escape this would be to get a scope on an equatorial mount with either slow-motion control cables or a clock drive. But as there are people who climb ladders with 20 inch Dobs and they have to nudge these, I wouldn't be terribly concerned. It will become a fluid motion to you in no time! Or pay more DK Kroners and get an 8 inch equatorially mounted scope. Either way, an 8 inch reflector, regardless of the mount, is a very fine instrument!
