I am sure that a 16" Dobsonian will show you more than a 5" or 6" refractor, though as you point out transporting the beast would be a pain! We would have to start a new thread on which pick-up trucks work best with which telescopes! I say get the Dodge!!...

Anywho, I am sure Scott will enjoy his AR-6 for a long time to come. Even past the time he goes nuts and buys a mountain in Arizona and moves into a dome with a 30" f5 reflector, and is never heard from again!

One note to you, Scott, that I failed to mention: The AR-5 & 6 come with a star diagonal that rightly belongs in a box of Cracker Jack's. Made from cheap plastic, it discredits these telescopes greatly. Shame on you, Meade. I suggest upgrading as soon as possible to a good 2" mirror diagonal. I have one of these, as well as a 2" Meade - which cost more. I like the WO much better. Or go nuts and check out some TeleVues!

And I still think refractors beat Dobs and SCT's for contrast. And I have a 12" SCT!
