High Temp Storage Of Meade SCT

I have know Meade SCT 10" LX3 stored in 95-100 degree F. heat during summers for over 10 years with no effect on scope/drive/or related parts. Collimation holds together for typical observing in night providing cool down time is provided. The biggest concern I have is excess moisture in the observatory thus a dehumidifier is employed during rainy days while a 40 watt light bulb under OTA is adequate for most other good weather days. I have a tropical climate so the extremes are relatively mild. |
