I've had the LX200-12GPS for one month now.
I did download current software from website.
When setting up:
I don't level, I don't point it anywhere. I turn it on and let it do its thing. The stars it chooses for alignment are never even close to being in the EP. I never-the-less find and center them. After this I usually goto a very well defined object such as Jupiter. It is usually never centered but always in view with my 31mm EP. I center the planet and from then on the instrument performs flawlessly centering everything right on the money.
