This may seem like a dumb question, but does anyone know how many flaws are common on a normal 90mm objective lense?
I can see a small, maybe .10" defect on the lower edge of the lense. Also, there appears to be dust between the two objectives. Not a lot but it is visible under the correct light.
Also, does shining a flashlight at the objective bring out, or make it appear that there are more defects than are really there?
I just upgraded to this scope and although objects look ok, Jupiter and it's 4 moon, Saturn, stars, moon, etc. I'm just wondering if the small bits of dust and small flaw/s are affecting the quality of my seeing ability.
I appreciate any help or advice anyone can supply.
(I bought this scope new from Pocono Optics)
Thanks
