It seems that god has made a number of mistakes just like we humans do. The difference is that god also plants in the seeds to eliminate the mistakes- like nuclear weapons. If we are a mistake, we will just destry ourselves. So we are the first species that does not require a god to correct mistakes. We can do it to ourselves.

In the big picture, we humans are probably not going to last very long. God was quite patient with the dinasaurs, letting them go on for millions of years. Not likely that humans will last that long.
