Where Do We Draw The Line?

A full and accurate quote is essential to good interpretation. So as you have so far taught me, learning is good but research and investigation is bad for Islam. Where do you draw the line between these two. Almost all my learning has come from research and investigation. Is it that we should learn as much as possible about Islam without questioning it.
