Jesus Christ said the Law of Moses was fulfilled in Him. The Law of Christ contains two commandments: Love the Lord thy God. Love thy neighbor as thyself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.
The gospel Paul preached was Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and Repentance from sins. Maybe the Repentance part is the reason people do not like Paul.
