Hi Dick,

I think religion should be seen as a response to the world. As a response, religion changes as the world changes. What causes religion to change (or reconsider itself)? I think a great number of factors. For example, science affects religion tremendously. So does music, art, technology, war, culture, philosophy, etc. etc. All in all, religion is a human perception and human perceptions are framed from many considerations - many of which are in constant flux.

Warm regards, Harv
