You suggest the amendment only protects my right to practice the religion of my choice but does not prohibit the government from endorsing a religion. Let's suppose your interpretation is correct, and the only significant element of the 1st amendment in regards to religion is that goverment may not intrude on my religion. Well, let me ask, how is this possible if the government is endorsing a specific religion?
