Yes, Lahore is about 2 thousand miles east from my home town Sumgait.
The reason for junk sites is the same reason as for numerous astrology/horoscope/religious books -making money on uneducated public. Because there are plenty of stupid or undereducated people around, they from time to time buy those books, newsletters, subscribe on-line service, become a members of various societies like Flat Earth Society in the USA (you too can get membership for sending them only $10 per year - very affordable membership, and they sent you nice looking member card) etc. Another reason - desire to overturn Einstein or Newton or Darvin but without knowing how things work.
Most of people who sell this stuff, do not have good education. You know, american scientific education is very poor (23rd place by statistics), so if you can get education in good college in Lahore, Islamabad or Karachi - it is better than in USA. India also has strong colleges (in Deli, Calcutta and some other cities).
In the USA you may even buy Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees for $500 and up (PhD is expensive - about $3000). It is a "free market" society - they call it in colleges demand and supply law.
Fake moon landing does not exist - those sites make money on denying facts of actual Apollo moon missions.
After USSR first launched satellite "Sputnik" in space in Oct 1957, and especially when later Russia put first man Yurii Gagarin in space (in April 12, 1961), the USA decided to join space exploration too. In 1966-69 USSR sent robotic vehicle to moon which found lack of life, air and water there and therefore Soviets decided to end their moon exploration program and focused on Venus, Mars and space labs.
But USA in 1969-71 decided to send several manned missions to Moon. Some were successful (and some not), so american austronauts INDEED visited Moon several times a few years after Soviets ended their robotic moon exploration missions.
So, sites which promote the idea that there were no Americans on the Moon are INCORRECT. Samples of moon soil brought by astronauts were extensively researched and even are put in several museums in the USA to display for general public. They are NOT fake. |
