objectively, his points on multiple interpretations are valid as applying to 'religion' in general, not necessarily cynicism - and what is cynicism but having extra discretion in testing so-called teachings? ought we really condemn a person for filtering out Language Removed? we do it all the time ourselves. interpretations are how things apply to our lives and the lives of others we observe, wide truths have many applications. we need to see that if we can have opinions on what is 'right and working' probably there was a creator who also used discretion and put rules through many tests before applying them all over the galaxy and in human hearts, etc. something to think about. i'm a 'cynic' by some definitions, too, i suppose, but am also a testing believer in Christ. |
