I've done and seen some different types of stuff, too. But I'm not entirely convinced that once one is ensnared that help is that far away. I think, because we have the power of choice, the 'door' to change/refusal to continue in the quicksand is always right behind us and will open the moment we decisively turn from the quicksand towards the door and open it, and shut the quicksand behind us. Sure, there'll maybe be some quick'goo' still on our shoes, but that fades as we continue to walk away from it.
