It's perfectly possible that the universe was made by one. In fact science largely tells us how it was done, or at least the history of what came first, second, etc. And through our telescopes we can see stars in the making- probable the most important element of making a universe.

Clearly, even in theoretical science, the universe came from one- we popularly call it the Big Bang. So I see no inconsistency between science and religion.
