Anything galacticly within our near future range, in my opinion would have most likely evolved at least simular in time frame, if not biochemically.
So it may also be possible that they are similar evolutionaly, more or less advanced than we are.
This would explain our solitude as a planet, if some version of our likeness in life were a form of reality in the local universe. If we survive, some future generation of us will in time meet other beings, and after that? Many kinds...?
It would be wild if it happened in our lifetimes, they might even have ways of managing semi- imortality. Then we could see so much more of it, beyond our wildest dreams!
