The reference should have been Matthew 7:13 and 14

v13

Enter though the narrow gate.
For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction,
and many enter through it.

v14

But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I was not intending to suggest that God was not companionate.
Please accept my humble apology.
