In your favorite translation...
"Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return."
1. There is not topic change in the text.
2. God is giving curses to all who violated His laws. (Eve and Satan also receive a curse.)
3. In the previous text A warning was given that a curse would come if the law was viloated twice so it should be no suprise that a curse would be recorded here.
4. In the judgement on Eve and Satan the
judgement was given in the is way.
1ST. The curse is given.
2ND. The specific method of punishment is given.
3RD. A description of results of the punishment is given.
Adams curseis given the same way.
1ST. The curse is given.
"Cursed is the ground for your sake"
This indicates a change from a previous condition.
2ND. the specific method of punishment is given.
"In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field."
3RD A description of the results of the punishment is given.
"In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return."
It is easly seen that the thorns and thistles are the curse and they will cause hardship.
When Eve's curse was given "your pain during child birth will be greatly multiplied" would you argue that nothing new happened?
Likewise the thorn and thistles are also something new.
I understand you can not accept this because it goes against everything you believe,
but you asked.
So in short, by this text, the opposite of evolution is true.
The world is getting worse.
The future holds new deseases, more genetic degeneration, until God must interviene to prevent our extinction.
Our pride causes us to think we can push God out of the way and make it on our own without His intervention.
That is why evolution is such a pleasing idea to us.
The sin of pride is also the sin that caused Satan to fall, as he aspired to steal Gods power and position thnking of himself as greater then all reason indicates.
