Fermions And Bosons

The difference between materialism and physicalism is that materialism is a philosophy that says that all that exists is the material (fermions and bosons), whereas the physicalist says that all that exists is 'physical'. If there are physical laws or mathematical laws that 'exist', the physicalist is not in trouble since these laws are physical. However, the materialist cannot accept such an outcome.
