You do not prove the existence of god by saying that science cannot explain the existence of consciousness. I cannot believe a PhD would make such a claim. It seems that you assume that god is outside of science. Not so. God gave us science, the ability to understand nature and I think ultimately the ability to understand her.

I think science will ultimately understand consciousness, but it will be an emergent property of matter, not an elementary property as you also assume. You need someone to tell you what assumptions you make without realizing it.
