I can see only one place Ive seen the word means smeared with grime.It looks as though the folks who wrote our dictionaries have slipped in there own meaning.Maybe if we knew the truth about the word we would find that jesus was the only person crucified (of thousands)that was smeared with grime.hence the name jesus christ.The anointed comes from the cleaning off of the grime.There is the change on the meaning.I find it hard to beleive the bible or dictionaries where sensetive words are concerned.The words as they meant in the recent past.We had words before christ.Or is this where speaking began.Without looking very deep this is what I have found.This bible is not science its sudoscience based on fear, misunderstanding, misinformation and trust of the unknowning leaders of the unknown.I want to know.
