1. They are not ruleless. You perscribe rules for the creation of new knots and the disappearance of "bad" knots.

2.Since they are a learning system, they are more like genetic programming than spin networks. Genetic programming starts with a simple system and proceeds to design a functional network based on rules designed to create and disappear elements in terms of how well they achieve the perscribed function.

3. So I assume that the differences lie in the rules perscribed. Since you claim to be addressing artificial consciousness, can you explain what your particular set of rules have to do with the function of consciousness?
