For person with schizophrenia the voices are beyond his control and because of that they cannot be stopped by finding out what cause them and eliminating the cause. So if you encourage such person to explore it, the result would only be that he gives more ond more importance to these "voices" and as a result the "voices" shall have more and more influence on him. But if you advise to pay as small attention as possible to the voices, they first disturb less because they would have lower priority, and second brain tries to find necessary solutions, so part of the brain where voices come, for whatever reasons, may stop to produce them if it doesn't receive any signals what would confirm a necessity of them. If that way this part of the brain stops to act against the rest of the brain, the conflict disappears, a part of the brain would not be rejected any more and making new connections and harmony with it would become much more possible.
