Don't know about "any physical process" whether it was in Deutsch paper, but at least quantum computer theoretically supposed to be able to implement quantum entanglement, then probably possible quantum consciousness also. So for example if we develop some good teaching algorithms for absolutely dynamic systems (artificial consciousness) and try them on quantum computer, then we may see whether such mechanism exists on the quantum level.
