If we look at the old testament account of the creation of the univers, even in it's most literal terms, a true calculation of the age of the universe is not achievable,...example, Adam, the 1st man according to the old testament, was created from the dust of the ground (Gen. 2:7)I assume due to the context that he was an adult, fully developed, if science could take samples of his genetic tissue to determine his age, just seconds after God formed him,...how old would he be, seconds old? (how long he has existed) between 18 and 40 years old? (because he a was full grown man) or Days old? (because he was formed from the dust of the earth which has been hanging around since day 1??? the problem with longing backwards through time is it is diffucult to seperate certain cause and effect relationships, if the evidence for them no longer exists. Of course, Adams remains if found and tested by modern day science would ascribe to him the same age as the earth with he was formed from, dating man-kind back before God breath the breathe of life into his nostrils.(Gen. 2:7)
