Languages are limited by our conceptual schemes, and those conceptual schemes are what set the bounderies of thought. If Newton would have had Einstein's conceptual scheme, then physics might have advanced much further in the 1600's. Instead of language of mechanics predominating the 18th century, it would have been the language of relativity theory. |
