If human happiness is the purpose of human life and if Buddhism is the vehicle to arrive at it, then it seems to me that Thailand is 'happier' than other countries. Of course, I would rate Bali as happier than Thailand, but that's a Hindu country. Italy and Greece appear to me as very happy countries. Perhaps someone knows of scientific research which tries to measure world happiness conditions. The least happiest countries appear to be Communist or former Communist countries. The Cambodians that I met appeared to be very unhappy, but my contact has been so brief that I wouldn't count it. Overall, I'd say that Christian nations and Hindu nations (India and Bali) appear to be the happiest.
