in the beginning was the word
and the word BECAME flesh
(from John)

most bible thumpers will tell you
that jesus was the word in the beginning
but if so
not in the flesh

the word became flesh
and the becoming
includes allowance
if god chose
for evolution

some children`s bibles
have changed those words
to
in the beginning was jesus

how confusing for a child
to believe
a man floated as flesh
in emptiness
without a world to stand on
or an apple to eat
