Sotell Me Why Islam Gave Up On Science And Math

They were the best in the world. What made them give up if not being taken over by fundamentalists?

I believe you are right about the Quran and that the fundamentalists misinterpreted it to get their way. Nevetheless Islam is still suffering from fundamentalism. If you are in favor of liberalizing Islam, I applaud you.

BTW- I have been christian, atheist, jewish, buddhist and hindu in my time. Practiced Sufi but never became a Muslim. Read all of the Quran. Very repetitive. I now practice my own religion that combines all others with mantras, but have not been able to incorporate Islam yet.

I have been unable to find the link to "The fundamental articles of islam" which has the quotes from the Quran condemning reasearch and discourse. But I am persisting.
