***I agree with you that Tim's synopsis is accurate. But you are making a mistake by confusing the "pipeline", which Tim has correctly characterized as "an analytic pipeline", with the "pipeline" that presents to your consciousness information about reality. Those two are vastly different. ***

OK. My biological pipeline and the analytic pipeline are vastly different.

****The pipeline presenting information to your consciousness has mysterious and complex biological processes that convert physical manifestations into phenomena. Some of this pipeline is examinable, but ultimately, it cannot be completely examined. ***

An assumption, that it cannot ultimately be examined, but for now that's correct

***Dick's "analytic pipeline", on the other hand, is simply an abstract mathematical method of displaying, or presenting, any set of information in a particular way. The method is completely specified, so the entire pipeline can be examined. ***

So why call it a pipeline. It has nothing to do with my biological pipeline. It's just a mathematical representation with assumed symmetries in sets of data.

***The surprising discovery that Dick made is that by using his "analytic pipeline", or "model", the resulting phenomena, i.e. the picture apprehended by our consciousness, is consistent with the picture presented by the enigmatic biological pipeline, viz. your senses and nervous system. ***

NO WAY. Not he, not you , nobody has shown that the biological pipeline has anything to do with his representation of data. That is a tremendous assumption. Completely ad hoc as Dick has admitted to me on this forum.

I have shown that biological pipelines can use different symmetries in viewing data, such as mirror symmetry when seeing people at a distance. Mirror symmetry is not in Dick's representation. He says it is embedded in the analysis. But that is just not true.

Just saying something is true does not make it true. All that Dick has discovered has already been known to physics. There is absolutely nothing new in Dick's work except for a clever math derivation of the consequences of symmetry in data which was already known to physics.

Regards,

Richard
