Hi P.
You're just wrong agreeing with that swell-sounding swill. Today, your covenanted belief about God and evil are as blurry as bruce almighty.
I will not quote, even to overturn, the curve that threw you for a loop. I too believe in
God, but that is all the more reason NOT to warp science and parade cliche's.

Real science does NOT hold:
1) that evolution has a creative directionality as described; it would not be necessary, in any "guided" process of developing these higher faculties, to wallow in the age of the dinosaurs for 160 million years-- an Age which apparently occurred billions of years after the design of the rules of chemistry, physics, and the creation of sheer giganticness of star-speckled space.
It was better stated years ago, when Arthur Falk wrote in Humanist magazine in 1995, and I have cited his article on this forum. Falk noted that evolution is a wasteful and cruel process and that we should oppose it. We can use that idea to support the need for improved design, planning,
and social consciousness -- the OPPOSITE of the totalitarian states which religions and anti-religions have both tended to create. In this, probably Jesus has contributed guiding comments.

Nor does real science hold:
2) that warfare has created, through natural selection, more "advanced" human beings. It simply is not true. The process will create more
successful warriors in a clumsy and wasteful way.
Humans preen ourselves with vain conceit that our insights are great, but the argument over which insights are greater is still basically settled too often by mere destructive power. Oh, gee, now we can do 1/100th what a volcano can do. We're so advanced. What a dumpload. Wait 'til the jury returns with a verdict on humanity's great heights of achievements. It was also cliche' to credit Jesus with teaching humanity, but unfortunately, the lessons are far from learned.
Don't be fooled; your contemporaries are not necessarily in your own age group.
Sincerely,
Mike Pearson
