Theories Created By Aware Beings.

Theories created by aware beings are typically based on purpose.

Definition of aware beings: An aware being is a being which is aware that they are thinking. For an example, a cat is not an aware being... no offence to the cat lovers among us. A person may be an aware being.

The following two examples verify the predominance of purpose over logic to determine acceptance of evidence for an aware being.

Example I

When a close family member is lost.
The question asked is “Why has God done this?” and not “How has God done this?”
“Why” asks for a purpose?

Example II

Many theories have been presented in this forum.
It is not uncommon that even when evidence is presented which logically would indicate the theory is wrong, the presenter does not agree that the theory is incorrect.
I believe this is at least in part due to the purpose which the theory satisfies for the theory creator. If the theory creator has designed over half of the theory based on purpose then logical arguments will not be persuasive.
The theory creator may be unaware of their reason for maintaining there opinion.

Mothers Day thought experiment

Bob is not at home and we wish to find him.

Logical elimination method
Our computer can check each home within the expected travel time of Bobs home by making phone calls and checking to determine if Bob is there. The average time required to find Bob will be the time required to check 50% of the homes in the determined travel area. The time to locate Bob can take no longer then the time required to check all the homes in the determined travel area.

Purpose locating method.
Bob is not at home and we wish to find him.
Bob is an (aware being) and therefore must have a purpose for leaving home.
Possible reasons why Bob left home are listed.
Work.
Shopping
Holiday
Unknown
The calendar indicates that it is Mothers day.
We are aware beings and we can imagine that we are Bob. We decide that if we were Bob we would be at Bobs Mothers house.

Notice that purpose directed searches eliminate large quantities of possibilities quickly while logical elimination directed searches must rely on a function of chance to locate Bob.

Now let us repeat the process in a distant future time.

Computers have much faster speeds but the invention of the teleport has made possible the instantaneous relocation of Bob to anyplace in the universe.
The computer has a very slim chance of ever locating Bob while the purpose directed search returns a result that Bob is at his mothers house in the same time duration as before.

This leads to the conclusion that purpose based determinations become much more effective then logical elimination methods, as the complication of the question increases.

We are now given the additional information that no one is home at Bobs Mothers house.
The purpose directed search proposes that Bob and his Mother are at a restaurant.

Notice that our theory is not regarded as a faulty theory but because our theory is based on purpose our theory remains. The second most probable location of Bob is determined which fits the data.

How would this affect the creation of a theory of universal origin for example.

If God created the universe and God is an aware being then He must have a purpose.

There are so many possible physical law configurations the universe may have that we will not be able to disprove even a small percentage in our lifetime. The odds against happening on the correct assumptions by chance are minuscule.
The number of configuration of the universe which conforms to a specific purpose God has may only be one.

What think you, aware beings?
