I'd prefer if jibber jabber between participants moved to e-mail, but I'm not the moderator. If I were the moderator I'd strictly enforce the following rules:

1) Only content pertaining to 'science and religion' will be allowed to remain

2) Excessive dogma or content deemed by moderator to be signs of mental illness or troll behavior will be removed

3) Chatting between posters that includes off topic discussions, insults, accusations, and any other inappropriate posts will be removed.

4) Forum participants will be allowed only one screen name, and this screen name must be anonymous. Posters are not required to identify themselves or feel pressured to identify themselves by other participants. Posts that require their identification in any forceful manner will be deleted.

If those rules didn't clear up the slop or was somehow too restrictive, then they would be subject to further amendment.
