Tim,
I too was intrigued by Twilight Zone...
Einstein said "Imagination is more important than intelligence" ...and although the science
is sketchy in the books and motion pictures,
there is intuitive strength in them.
As someone said,"The universe is stranger than we can suppose." It's good we learned
to consider that possiblity as children rather
than having our minds closed by emphatic doctrine.
Now we just have to be able to explain why
Rod Serling's approach to life led to an early
death (ie. smoking) if he was so smart.
What's your explanation for the critics?
