Twisted Ball

Now I see. The ball is the universe and when the ball untwists it expands.

That would be a good metaphor for the big bang if there were no acceleration of the expansion.

You see the force of expansion of a twisted ball is greatest when the twist is tightest or when the ball is smallest. That is like an ordinary explosion.

The explosion of our universe is not like that . At the present time the force of expansion is getting stronger as the universe gets bigger. Present thinking is then that the force of expansion is proportional to the total amount of space in the universe.
