i feel compelled to believe that an individual's needs/wants tend to correspond directly with its levels or methods of self awareness. here we are researching and sharing our thoughts of the existence of relatively obscure ideas and possibilities, by many standards, yet we pursue these answers to fulfill a need and to fill our minds, our consciousness, to the end that is a new and "improved" self-awareness.
your pet has its own needs/wants and only it is aware of them, well it and possibly the collective that is. but there is a very distinguishable difference between the capacity of human and every other animal, and yes even dolphins. he he he
