I believe in God and I am a Christian but I have my doubts, for example, I don`t believe all of the Bible to be the Word of God in the literal sense. I believe it to have been written by people trying to explain some of their experiences, presumably of God. I don`t believe the whole Bible to be the Word of god because it contains errors and contradictions that could only be the result of human error. An omnipotent and omniscient God would not make any errors, thus the Bible was written by people. I think its inspiration from God is subject to debate. I believe in God because some experiences that I have had in life which seem to defy coincidence. And since I work as a scientist, I see many amazing things that seem to point in the direction of a divine order. I admit that I could be wrong. For that reason and others, I find this forum interesting. |
