GR is a model which has been shown to work for a domain of applicability (thats pretty much how I view science, models either work or they don't and it is important to test the predictions they make). GR doesn't attempt to give us a quantum description for gravity. Personally I feel that eventually there will be a coherent quantum description for gravity and GR will be an approximation of that description for its domain of applicability. Have you followed Kopeikin's experiment? I'm looking forward to his paper announcing the results. I'm also looking forward to the Gravity Probe B experiment and the grav radiation experiments.
