In my view, they do not see the line like that. They see it as 'us' trying to impose our view on them by making their kids learn evolution in high school and college. They see 'us' imposing our view by collecting their tax dollars and spending it on research which contradicts their beliefs. And, worse of all, they see 'us' imposing our view in ways that causes God's punishment on 9/11, etc which they are determined to change so that America is no longer punished. Don't believe me, watch the 700 Club more often.
