I disagree that he is different in any way from OT to NT. Well in the sense that he didn't change a bit. It's kind of hard for me to respond to this exactly since I'm still trying to understand God in as much as I can understand him, but while I do that please post the condradictions.

I can say something about two things in your responce. First the 500 year view thing. Well that would be pretty much a catholic thing, who have a different veiw of God from the protestants and the early church. The Genoside thing really hasn't changed at all just look at revelation God kills about 75% of the world population if you total it in the prophesies. All tell me if the Jews had killed all the people that were living on the land would they have the problems that they have now? Obviously in todays time this is a harsh question, but when one looks at history if they had followed God's word they would have been much better off.
Back then it was preety much kill or be killed so you really can't move that in to today. He also can change his mind it has happened before and it might happen again. I really can't answer how he does it. God see the world differently from us. Then again it might be a desistiny thing in which he acts one way hoping (well knowing) that you respond in the way he wants.

This might sound a little odd, but it's the best way that I can type it.

Thanks for the responce.
God Bless.
