Who Has Ever Said That Mutations Can't Be Negative?

Evolution is the promotion of good mutations. Obviously if a bad mutation occurs, the species won't be able to create many offspring. Therefore the mutation doesn't survive.

Just like a birds beak. If a bird is born with a weak beak, it won't get out of its egg. Therefore it is very unlikely birds could develop weak beaks because they could never procreate, because they died before they were really able to live.
