You called yourself a "alturistic Robot" - I think that is a good description.

Do you not think altruism could be selected for? Why couldn't the protection of your "kind" be beneficial for your groups collective gene advancement? I think having a look-out during a feeding session makes perfect sense for the group, even though the protector doesn't eat - it benefits the genes it might have invested in the population.

I am not giving nature human qualities, if that is what you are implying. I am saying that our total disregard for nature, our insistence on being separated from the natural world will bite us on the Language Removed. I am not into flowery new age bullshit. I don't pray to the earth god, or do a dance during the vernal equinox. I do believe that as a whole, human arrogance has pushed us away from understanding our animals "self" and its place in the natural world. We have tried so hard to believe that we are above nature that soon we will forget we are subject to its whims. And when nature strikes back (not through purpose, but through our neglect) we will pay dearly.
