Question for kc2gwx and/or Emperor Alikar:

Do you believe:

1) That we have free will? (that is, that if someone denies the Bible then they are making a deliberate, willful attempt to turn from God)

2) That God has a plan for this universe, and can see the future?

If you say yes to both of these, as I suspect you will, you are making a logically flawed statement. If God can see the future, he can logically see what actions you will take throughout your life. That is, free will would be an illusion, since making any other choice than the one you do is physically impossible. That is, he created you with complete foreknowledge of your entire life and what choices you would make. Now, what does that tell you about God if there is a heaven and hell? If your lot in life is preordained, by what right does God predestine you for an eternity of bliss or suffering? To punish someone for wrongs that they commited through no alternative on their part requires a god so arbitrary and cruel that it defies imagination. If God can see the future, designed us, and there is an afterlife based on our merit on this earth, then he created us with the explicit purpose of populating heaven or hell.

The Fundamentalist view of God is that of a sadist and a tyrant, designing humans with flaws they cannot escape from and then punishing them for it.
