Do you know the difference between a joke and a true statement? It seems obvious, but for you the difference may be unattainable.

I was joking and obviously so - the problem is that you are dismissing the panspermia theory on what grounds. It seems implausible to you that life was seeded on this planet through extraterrestrial origins. Why? Can you prove that it wasn't? You seem to be caught up with being able to absolutely prove everything in science. Can you absolutely prove or disprove that intelligent alien life-forms came to earth at some point in history and seeded it with living organisms (unevolved or already evolved)? Can you prove or disprove that a single protocell was not carried via asteroid or comet to the early earth?

Come on - use your scientific know-how to prove or disprove those theories. I think that science doesn't support those theories as well as life being spawned from terrestrial origins, but maybe new evidence will come to light and we will be forced to change.

Still not sure what the nature of science is, eh?

Scott
