Sorry, But You're Not Sticking To Science

Stop saying that. You're looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. That is, you assume religion is right from the outset (on a basis of faith) and then try to justify that assumption (on a basis of reason.) You can't logically do that. Justifying the results of faith on rational bases without giving reason for faith is invalid. First you must justify your core assumptions: why are you Christian? I'm sure you'll give the same reasons that any Muslim would, or Buddhist, or Shinto, or Jew, or Sikhist. What makes christianity inherently true for you as opposed to any other religion? Faith alone? In that case, don't bother with scientific arguments. If, in the end, in the absence of evidence you won't abandon your theory but instead simply say 'God did it' then you don't need science. It make you look unfocused. All you have to do to achieve a greater level of credibility is grab a roll of duct tape, open the Bible to a suitable page, and tape it to your face. At least that way your eyes, nose, and ears will never notice any of the glaring inconsistencies that you seem intent on ignoring. |
