The Hundredth Monkey

My understanding based on reading material by Sheldrake is that the hundredth monkey story is based on research done by Japanese scientists who noticed that once 100 or more monkeys on one island learned to do something, then monkeys on other islands also knew how to do the same thing.

I have not read the book, but I am in a library now. So I will look it up. I wonder if the Stanford Research Institute research on OBE is in the same book. I have yet to see anything critical of that work.
