Hi Alan,

You know that quote:
"My Kingdom is not of this world"

Yet ever since, in his name, they tried to make
the Kingdom on this world. Church and government were synonymous. Was this against his wishes? Or was Jesus evading the question when it was asked whether he was claiming to be a king (with whom the other king of the Jews, Herod, would have felt required to deal."

Reminds me of a joke about Churchill.

He had said something like:
"Who shall we blame this impertinence on?" and a correspondent corrected his grammar,
saying he must never end the sentence that way, but "On whom shall we place the blame for this impertinence?"
Churchill's response was something like: "This is precisely the kind of mischief up with which I will not put!"

What a bore I am...oh well, it was a funny joke when I heard it.

Sincerely,
Mike
